The Dangote Group appears set to influence Nigeria’s downstream petroleum industry with a free petrol delivery scheme, providing bulk purchasers direct access to gasoline for ₦1,075 per litre in chosen states.
- Dangote Group is launching a free gasoline delivery scheme for bulk buyers at ₦1,075 per litre in select Nigerian states.
- The scheme targets high-volume consumers who purchase at least 250,000 litres and offers a 10-day credit facility.
- Free delivery aims to cut logistics costs for qualified clients and allow them to buy directly from the Dangote Refinery.
- The company plans to use compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered trucks for deliveries, reducing emissions and transport expenses.
According to promotional materials seen on the group’s X page, issued as part of the company’s Dangote Vision 2030: Accelerating Africa’s Industrialisation campaign, the first phase of the scheme would span Lagos, Ogun, Rivers, Kaduna, Abuja, and Delta, with other states to be added in following phases.
The initiative targets high-volume consumers with a minimum purchase requirement of 250,000 liters.
Eligible clients would also receive free gasoline delivery and a 10-day credit facility, which might alleviate cash flow concerns for major fuel marketers, industrial users, manufacturers, logistics organizations, and large commercial fuel distributors.
If fully executed, the initiative would be another key step in Dangote’s ambitions to change Nigeria’s gasoline supply chain, after the inauguration of the Dangote Refinery, which has a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day.

By removing delivery charges for qualified clients, the corporation might save logistics costs, which frequently contribute to increased pump prices across the country.
The move may also allow bulk purchasers to source fuel directly from the refinery rather than through various intermediaries.
Dangote also describes the programme as “eco-friendly, implying that the distribution network might make use of its increasing fleet of compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered vehicles, which the business has been deploying as part of a larger push to decrease transportation costs and emissions.
In June 2025, Dangote unveiled an ambitious plan to deploy 4,000 CNG-powered trucks across Nigeria, aimed at alleviating bottlenecks in the petroleum supply chain and reducing reliance on costly diesel-powered distribution.
Although information about qualifying conditions and statewide growth has yet to be revealed, the rollout indicates the company’s ambition to strengthen its position in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum industry.
